Veneers in St. Charles MO

When the shape or contour of the teeth requires significant changes, veneers can be the answer. Veneers can build up small or misshapen teeth, close gaps between the teeth, and lengthen short teeth. About the size of a fingernail, veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that our dentist bonds to the tooth. Once in place, it is a natural addition to your smile that looks, functions, and feels like a normal tooth.

Veneers can be used to change one tooth or many, depending on your individual needs. They can also be used to correct teeth that have wear from grinding and clenching.  Veneers are also a wonderful solution for those who wish to whiten their teeth, but traditional whitening methods just won’t do the job.

Types of Veneers

We offer two types of veneers: composite veneers and porcelain veneers. Composite veneers require just one appointment at Elm Dental Care, while porcelain veneers require two appointments. Porcelain veneers are often stronger and more durable than composite veneers. However, if composite veneers do fracture or crack, they are easily fixed. Porcelain veneers will not change color once in place, but composite veneers may get darker or turn yellow, resulting in the need for replacement.
